“It’s too expensive to buy a mask! We received a donation of masks from Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, and delivered them to families raising children and medical facilities.
Drug stores, convenience stores, and online retailers are gradually re-stocking disposable masks, and the price range is getting easier to buy.
In April and May, disposable masks were still expensive and hard to come by.
In the questionnaire that Florence and the Children’s Home Meal Support Group compiled during this period as part of the New Corona Children’s Emergency Support Project, we received comments such as “There is a shortage of masks” and “The prices are too high to buy masks”.
And the same was true for medical facilities where clean masks are essential.
(Can we somehow deliver masks to people in need?)
Just as we were pondering this, Zurich Insurance Company offered to donate masks and funds to the Florence the New Corona Children’s Emergency Support Project through the Z Zurich Foundation, a Zurich Insurance Group foundation.
The amazing thing is the number of masks – 48,000!
We immediately distributed masks to needy families with children, single parents, and medical and welfare service providers who support parents and children through the activities of the Children’s Home Meal Support Group throughout the country, including Saga, Kumamoto, Yamanashi, and Kyoto.
The joyful voices came in one after another from all over the country.
Here are some photos and messages from the recipients of the masks.
-Kyoto Adachi Hospital.
Families with children were very happy to receive the masks, saying “We are very grateful for the masks under these circumstances,” and “They are very helpful.
-From the staff of the Yoshino Town Council of Social Welfare, Nara Prefecture
Thank you very much for your donation of masks.
”There was an increase in the number of consultations with the needy and job seekers affected by the new coronavirus, so they were very helpful.
The lack of masks has made us feel uncomfortable, so we are able to provide assistance without worry.
An end of the new coronavirus is not in sight, but we realized once again that the reason we, as supporters, are able to help those in need is because of the people who support us.
-From the staff of Student Support Face, a certified non-profit organization
Thanks to your help, we were able to deliver masks to single parents and families with difficult living conditions who were unable to obtain them.
Thank you so much to Zurich Insurance Ltd. and the Z Zurich Foundation!
Zurich Insurance Company Ltd also organized a heartwarming online presentation ceremony!
We recently received a catalogue from Masachika Nishiura, CEO of Zurich Insurance Company Ltd and the CSR Task Force team, and Florence thanked Zurich Insurance Company Ltd and the Z Zurich Foundation for their support.
As the state of emergency was being declared, an online presentation ceremony was planned, and we were able to ask about their support for the activities of the New Corona Children’s Emergency Project.
The donations we received this time will be used to allocate the cost of delivery and the operational costs of the emergency support project.
Corona related crisis, we continue supporting families raising children.
Although the state of emergency declaration has been lifted, the severe corona recession is affecting the environment for parents and children. Continued support is needed for families raising children who are struggling to make ends meet.
Florence has been developing its business in the Tokyo and Sendai areas, but in the future we would like to work on resolving issues related to parents and children nationwide through the activities of “Kodomo-Takushoku-Ouendan” (Food delivery program for children and families network in Japan) .
”Kodomo-Takushoku-Ouendan” is promoting the nationwide expansion to deliver foods to children and parents in need.
We do not ask for payment for this system, which is made possible by your warm donations.
You can donate by paying taxes at home for only 2,000 yen without having to file a tax return.
We would be very much looking forward to your support.
